Bring Your Own Map (BYOM) orienteering is available for 1 week (March 30 - April 7, 2024) at the MetroWest YMCA Outdoor Center in Hopkinton, MA. Come run on a new map!
Parking - Please use the soccer field entrance across from Wildlife Drive (appox 62 East Street) and continue to the dirt parking lot across from the soccer fields. (See map below.)
Courses [open March 30 until April 7, 2024 (courses close on 2 pm)]:
- White (1.7 km) – beginner: all controls on trails
- Yellow (2.6 km) – advanced beginner: all controls visible from trails
- Sprint1 (2.4 km) – intermediate: some controls on trail, some off trail
- Sprint2 (2.4 km) – intermediate with different controls from Sprint1
Safety
- Please be respectful of other park users and watch for traffic on park roads.
- Report any missing controls / QR codes or any other issues to the event director.
- Dogs must be leashed.
- IF using QR code scanning, please scan the FINISH QR code (even if you didn’t find them all or just decided to stop) so we know you are off the course.
Cost
- Free for members of NEOC and MetroWest YMCA
- $10 for individuals/families
- $20 + $2/person for groups
QR code runners: If you can't "punch" a control because your phone loses its data connection, carry on with your course (you can "skip control"). Afterwards send an email to fix your DNF.
